March Recap: Rain or Shine, Our Mission Continues!
March brought record rainfall to SoCal, but that didn’t slow us down! This month, we hit an incredible milestone—our highest number of Adoptions and our highest number of Intakes!! It’s a powerful reminder that the more dogs who find loving homes, the more lives we can save.
However, the canine world is facing a growing crisis. Viral upper respiratory outbreaks, including kennel cough, are leading to unnecessary euthanasia in overcrowded shelters. When left untreated, these mild conditions can escalate into pneumonia, which we’ve seen firsthand in several of the dogs we’ve rescued this month. With proper medical care, these pups can recover and thrive—but we need your help. Please consider donating to support our medical fund and give these deserving dogs a fighting chance.
On a brighter note, our in-person events this month have been nothing short of amazing! A huge shoutout to our incredible partners at Scripps Ranch Farmers Market, Solana Beach, and PNC Pets in Carlsbad for providing platforms where our dogs can be seen, loved, and adopted. Your support truly makes a difference!
Thank you to our dedicated volunteers, adopters, and supporters for making March such a successful month. Let’s keep this momentum going—because every adoption opens the door for another dog in need!

Learn about the Innovative App Developed to Improve Efficiency in the Dog Rescue World - Pet Pardon

The CEO of Pet Pardon, Sheryl Joyce, shares her disruptive innovation in this month’s blog post. As a donation-based organization, we are heavily relying on the “pledges” from the community which often come as dollar amounts on social media posts. There lacks traceability and accountability and often than not, we can only rely on ~30% of pledgers to actually follow through and honor their commitments. Most pledgers miss the comments reminding them to honor this pledges, whereas the app provides a deeper level of follow through to help rescues like us to collect pledge intended for the dogs we’ve pulled.
