"Saving dogs from euthanasia,
one paw at a time."
Our Mission

Our Mission Statement
In 2024, 390,000 dogs were euthanized in the US, and this is the highest number in the past five years. (Shelter Animals Count Database, 2025)
Overall, euthanasia is on the rise, which is why we established Homebound Hounds. We are a California-based dog rescue on a mission to save, foster, and find forever homes for at-risk dogs.
Our core team and volunteers are devoted to preventing unnecessary euthanasia while promoting public awareness of the over-population crisis. We invite you to join our cause, and ideally, one day, we will end capacity-based euthanasia once and for all.
Feature Hound
Buddy
Meet Buddy (5yo, 65lbs), a resilient black pittie who’s overcome so much just to end up on the euthanasia list at the SEAACA shelter. 💔 Thanks to his amazing foster, he was treated for his pneumonia and has been thriving with weekly group training sessions. ❤️
While he is still learning about the world, but is a super fast learner. Always looking to please, he is crate and house-trained and dog tolerant. He is athletic yet loves a cuddle session, so if you're looking for a buddy, he's your guy! He would thrive with an active owner/family, and our rescue will continue to sponsor his weekly group trainings. 🌱
Could you be the one to show Buddy what it means to be truly home? 🏡🐕 Sending in adoption application today in our "adopt" tab.

"If just 6% of the families chose to adopt instead of purchase, we would end the killing of cats and dogs in our nation's shelters." (Source: Best Friends, Apr 2024)
