RE-INTRODUCING HH AND WELCOME TO OUR VILLAGE!

If you’re new here — welcome! 💛 We’re so glad you’ve joined our growing village of dog lovers, fosters, and supporters who believe every life deserves a second chance.

Homebound Hounds is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) dog rescue focused on saving dogs from California’s high-kill shelters, where overcrowding often means even healthy, loving pets face euthanasia. Our mission is simple but powerful: to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome at-risk dogs — giving them the fresh start they deserve.

💛 100+ dogs saved since our founding in October 2024 — and counting!

🐕 We partner with fosters, trainers, and community businesses to help each dog find stability and success.

🤝 Every share, donation, or volunteer hour helps us save the next one.

From shelter pull to safe sleep, everything we do is fueled by heart, teamwork, and the belief that change happens when a community comes together. Thank you for being part of ours — and for helping turn “last chances” into “new beginnings.”

ADOPTABLE DOG OF THE MONTH: RACHEL GREEN

ree

Age: 5 months old | Weight: 30 lbs

Breed: Shepherd/Husky mix | Status: #AdoptMe

Meet Rachel Green, our charming 5-month-old Shepsky (German Shepherd/Husky mix) from our Friends litter! Just like her namesake, Rachel is smart, social, and full of personality — the kind of girl who lights up every room (and dog park) she walks into.

Rachel is a perfect balance of playful puppy energy and gentle affection. She loves romping around with other dogs, is wonderful with kids and cats, and has an easygoing temperament that makes her a dream companion. Her foster describes her as “snuggly, sweet, friendly, calm, and just a little distractible — in the most endearing way.”

At 5 months old, she’s still in her impressionable phase and eager to keep learning. She’s picking up commands quickly and will thrive in a home ready to keep nurturing her curiosity and confidence.

  • 5 months old - Shepherd/Husky mix

  • Great with dogs, cats, and kids

  • Playful, loving, and highly trainable

  • Fostered in a home setting — ready for her forever one!

If you’re looking for a pup who will be your loyal sidekick, cuddle buddy, and daily source of smiles, Rachel Green is your girl.

EMERGENCY PAWS — FOSTER URGENTLY NEEDED

We have THREE amazing yet urgent pups looking for a stable landing spot.  Foster or adopters needed.

The first pup is Lulu.  She is 8yo, 75lbs, and a smart, resilient dog who has already been through so much. She has been in board and train to work on her confidence and will need a foster home in November.  We’re looking for a shepherd experienced household (children 12+). Ideally, we would like to keep her in San Diego or San Bernardino to be closer to our trainers.  Click here to watch her story.

The second and third pup are Daisy and Angel. They are only 9 weeks old (pictured is mama, she’s 25lbs, BUT we only need a foster for the babies), and need a foster by 11/9!

They’re great with kids, dogs, and cats.

If you or someone you know can open their home to either pup, please have them send in a foster application at homeboundhounds.org/foster 💙🐾
