A Note From Our President as We Close Out 2025
As we wrap up this incredible year, we can’t help but pause and reflect on just how far our little volunteer-led rescue has come. What started as a mission fueled by urgency and compassion has grown into a community-driven movement — and together, we’ve made an extraordinary impact.
This year alone, 125 dogs were saved from overcrowded, high-kill shelters and given a chance at the life they deserved. 57 dogs received spay/neuter procedures, preventing countless unwanted litters and breaking the cycle of pet overpopulation at its root. These numbers aren’t just metrics — they represent lives changed, families completed, and futures rewritten.
But none of this happened because of one person. It happened because of all of you.
To our fosters, who open their homes and hearts — even when it’s hard, even when it hurts.
To our transporters, who drive across counties and state lines to get dogs to safety.
To our volunteers, who show up in the quiet moments and the chaotic ones.
To our adopters, who choose rescue and give our dogs the soft landings they’ve always deserved.
To our networkers, donors, vets, trainers, partners, and every single supporter who shares a post, advocates for a dog, or cheers us on…

Homebound Hounds simply wouldn’t exist without you.
As we head into the new year, our mission remains unchanged: save the overlooked, the forgotten, the ones out of time — and build a community that refuses to let them be unseen. We’re proud of what we've accomplished, and we’re even more inspired for what’s ahead.

5-Month-Old Shepsky • Fostered in San Diego
Meet Pivot, our bright-eyed Shepsky puppy who has quickly become a volunteer favorite — and for good reason. Her mom was saved from the streets of Mexico. Pivot has blossomed into the sweetest, funniest, most well-rounded little pup.
At just 5 months old, she already shows the makings of an incredible companion!
Pivot is:

Whether it's exploring the yard, playing with dog friends, or curling up for a nap, Pivot is happy as long as she’s near her humans.
Most of Pivot’s siblings have been adopted… now it’s her turn. She’s ready for a family who will love her, guide her, and help her grow into the amazing dog we already know she’ll become.
