Welcome to the Homebound Hounds May 2025 Newsletter!
April Recap: When It Rained, It Poured (Dogs)April threw everything it had at us—and then some. From urgent medical needs to unexpected dog behavioral challenges to foster placement scrambles, it felt like every possible curveball came our way. But through the stress and setbacks, our community showed up.
To those who adopted, fostered, donated, shared our posts, or sent us words of encouragement: thank you. Every notion helped and every open heart made a difference. Truly, this month was only survivable because of you.
That said, the challenges aren’t over. Due to the strain on our resources, we’re currently on an intake hold until we can secure more funding and confirm additional adoptions. It’s not a decision we made lightly—but it’s what’s needed to give the dogs in our care the stability they deserve.
We’re regrouping, rebuilding, and pushing forward—with paws firmly planted. Thank you for being part of this rescue family. We’re in this together. Please consider donating to support our medical fund and give these deserving dogs a fighting chance.
On a brighter note, our in-person events this month have been nothing short of amazing! A huge shoutout to our incredible partners at Vasa Yoga Studio, Redlands Zoom Room, Scripps Ranch Farmers Market, Landini Group, Doggies on Deck, Juneshine Scripps Ranch, Sugar and Spice Cafe, and Puppy Yoga Club for providing platforms where our dogs can be seen, loved, and adopted. Your support truly makes a difference!

Adoptable Dog of the Month: Dodger
Dodger’s story almost ended at Devore. This sweet 1.5-year-old, 42lb pup was out of time when we pulled him from the euthanasia list—just in time. Since then, he's been showing us every day that he was worth saving.
Dodger loves his people and is amazing with kids. He’s house trained, crate trained, and a total star on leash. He’s been working hard on his dog reactivity, specifically towards unneutered males, and he’s made incredible progress during his time in board-and-train.
Now, Dodger is ready for his next chapter. He’s looking for a foster home (or better yet, a forever one!) where he can thrive, learn, and most of all—belong.
This boy has so much love to give, and he's more than ready to give it.
