Homebound Hounds - July 2025 Newsletter 🍦

Updated: 21 hours ago

Welcome to the Homebound Hounds July 2025 Newsletter!

July Newsletter: Slowing Down, Still Saving Lives

As the world continues to feel heavy with uncertainty—whether it’s rising shelter intakes, economic stress, or just the weight of everything—we want to take a moment to send love and gratitude to our entire community. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, please know: you’re not alone.

Here at Homebound Hounds, we’re slowing down a bit for July and August. Even so, thanks to our incredible fosters and teammates, we’ve still been able to save a few lives from high-kill shelters—reminding us that small acts of kindness still make a huge difference.

We’re currently at capacity with several long-term residents still waiting for their chance at a forever home. Until they find families, we simply can’t take in more.

If you’re looking for a way to help during these uncertain times, please consider sharing Buddy, Ash, and Bashful—three wonderful dogs who have been overlooked but have so much love to give. Your voice can be the reason they finally go home.

We appreciate you—today and always. Take care of yourself, and thank you for standing with us.

Adoptable Dog of the Month: Meet ASH

A short king with a big heart and even bigger zoomies!

Age: 2 years | Weight: 65 lbs

Breed: Bulldog mix | Status: #AdoptMe

Ash didn’t get the training or boundaries he needed from his previous owners, but he’s come a long way. Thanks to a professional board-and-train program, Ash now has great manners and is ready for a fresh start.

This lovable, low-rider is dog and kid friendly, and would do best with an active, experienced family who can keep up with his energy and continue reinforcing his training. Got a big backyard? Even better — Ash loves to run around and entertain himself with zoomies.

He’s sweet, eager to please, and just waiting for someone to give him the second chance he deserves. After all he’s been through, Ash is more than ready to find a forever home that will give him the structure, love, and fun he’s been missing.

Can you be Ash’s hero? If you can’t adopt, please share—your post might be the one that helps him find his family.

The Faces Behind the Rescue

At Homebound Hounds, the heart of everything we do beats because of the people behind the scenes — and none of it would be possible without them.

This quarter, we gathered for our Q2 Team Meeting, bringing together the brilliant, passionate, and compassionate women who keep this rescue running. From drafting newsletters and organizing transports to coordinating fosters, managing social media, and supporting adoptions — every single one of these amazing ladies is volunteering their time to help save lives.

They show up after work, during lunch breaks, on weekends, and in between the chaos of daily life — all for the dogs.

We are endlessly grateful for their dedication, humor, heart, and hustle. They remind us that rescue isn’t just about the dogs — it’s about community, compassion, and the power of showing up.

To our team: thank you for being the soul of this mission. You are seen, celebrated, and so very appreciated.
