"Saving dogs from euthanasia,
one paw at a time."
Our Mission

Our Mission Statement
In 2024, 390,000 dogs were euthanized in the US, and this is the highest number in the past five years. (Shelter Animals Count Database, 2025)

Overall, euthanasia is on the rise, which is why we established Homebound Hounds. We are a California-based dog rescue on a mission to save, foster, and find forever homes for at-risk dogs.

Our core team and volunteers are devoted to preventing unnecessary euthanasia while promoting public awareness of the over-population crisis. We invite you to join our cause, and ideally, one day, we will end capacity-based euthanasia once and for all.
Feature Hound
Pivot
Two weeks before Pivot was born, her devoted mama, Hope—a gentle and loyal Husky mix with a heart of gold, was rescued from the streets of Mexico. Pivot was fortunate to be born into rescue and has been raised in a safe and nurturing environment.

Now, the last pup from her litter, Pivot is still waiting for the forever family she's been dreaming of. Pivot is:

-
Born on 6/12/25 and estimated to be around 50lbs
-
House and crate trained
-
Dog, kid, and cat friendly
-
Adventurous (a good walk, hike, or swim)
-
Lovable and cuddly
-
Enjoys her quiet time just as much as her play time
If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent dog with a heart full of love and adventure, Pivot is for you.
