"Saving dogs from euthanasia,
one paw at a time."
Our Mission

Our Mission Statement
In 2024, 390,000 dogs were euthanized in the US, and this is the highest number in the past five years. (Shelter Animals Count Database, 2025)
Overall, euthanasia is on the rise, which is why we established Homebound Hounds. We are a California-based dog rescue on a mission to save, foster, and find forever homes for at-risk dogs.
Our core team and volunteers are devoted to preventing unnecessary euthanasia while promoting public awareness of the over-population crisis. We invite you to join our cause, and ideally, one day, we will end capacity-based euthanasia once and for all.
Feature Hound
Frankie
Frankie is a sweet 1 year old who is playful and smart. At just 50 lbs., he is a young dog who is learning what it means to feel safe. After a tough start, he’s settling into rescue life and showing just how special he is.
Frankie has a gentle nature and a soft heart, and thrives with the companionship of other dogs, although he'd be perfectly happy being the only pup in the household too. He enjoys playtime, social interaction, and being part of a calm, structured routine. Now that he is coming out of his shell, Frankie just showed us that he likes to play in the water at the beach.
If you’re looking for a kind-hearted companion who will bond deeply with his people and canine friends, Frankie may be the perfect match.
